The Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human rights (ZADHR) has this morning September 04, 2020 made a donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to United Bulawayo Hospitals COVID-19 Centre towards the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. ZADHR also donated Covid-19 test kits, drugs and medicines as well as medical sundries.

The Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human rights (ZADHR) has this morning August 28, 2020 made a donation of personal protective equipment (PPE) to Mutare Infectious Diseases Hospital towards the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. ZADHR also donated Covid-19 test kits, drugs and medicines as well as medical sundries. The donation is worth US$40 000.

Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 34 confirmed cases of COVID 19 and a total of 4 deaths. As of the 30th of April 2020, 8314 screening and diagnostic tests (Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update:30 April 2020) had been carried out against a projected figure of 40 000 tests for the month. The COVID 19 pandemic continues to unfold globally and within the SADC region. ZADHR notes the extension of the lockdown and the programme of action as outlined by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa on the 3rd of May 2020.

The world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, with the number of reported deaths globally standing at 154 350 (WHO, 18 April 2020) from a total of over 2 million confirmed infections. Zimbabwe, also continues to witness new cases with a total of 24 cases reported to the health ministry as at 17 April 2020. Three Zimbabweans have lost their lives after suffering from severe cases of COVID-19. In this report, we acknowledge the work by the COVID-19 Inter-Ministerial Ad hoc Taskforce in the identification and assessment of COVID-19 designated facilities and engagement of key stakeholders in the response to this pandemic.
