To date, over 7,452,809 COVID-19 infections worldwide have been confirmed to the WHO, with the number of deaths globally currently standing at over 418,919. Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 314 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a total of 4 deaths and 46 recoveries with the cumulative number of tests to date standing at 55 709 (32 904 RDT and 22 805 PCR) (MOHCC Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update: 10 June 2020).

To date, over 6,441,152 COVID-19 infections have been confirmed to the WHO, with the number of deaths globally currently standing at over 380,265. Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 222 confirmed cases of COVID-19, a total of 4 deaths and 29 recoveries as at 02 June 2020. The cumulative number of tests to date stand at 49 603 (29 951 RDT and 20 012 PCR) (MOHCC Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update: 04 June 2020).

To date, over 5 million COVID-19 infections have been confirmed to the WHO, with the number of deaths globally currently standing at over 328 000. Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 48 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and a total of 4 deaths as at the 20th of May 2020 with the cumulative number of tests to date standing at 32862 (18 244 RDT and 14 618 PCR) (MOHCC Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update: 20 May 2020). We also take cognisance of the indefinite extension of the lockdown period through the gazetting of Statutory Instrument 110 of 2020 (Public Health (COVID-19 Prevention, Containment and Treatment) (National Lockdown) (Amendment) Order, 2020 (No.8).

4th COVID-19 Monitoring and Advocacy Report: 05 May 2020

Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 34 confirmed cases of COVID 19 and a total of 4 deaths. As of the 30th of April 2020, 8314 screening and diagnostic tests (Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update:30 April 2020) had been carried out against a projected figure of 40 000 tests for the month. The COVID 19 pandemic continues to unfold globally and within the SADC region. ZADHR notes the extension of the lockdown and the programme of action as outlined by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa on the 3rd of May 2020.

The Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights (ZADHR) continues to monitor the coronavirus pandemic and national response in Zimbabwe. Globally, the pandemic continues to spread exponentially, and tens of thousands having lost their lives to this disease. In Africa, South Africa has become the epicentre of the disease with over a thousand confirmed infections. Zimbabwe has to date reported seven confirmed cases and one death according to government updates. ZADHR takes this opportunity to share its position on the following facets of our COVID 19 response.
