COVID-19 Health Worker Safety Tracker

Overview

On the 14th of April 2020 the High Court ordered the government to provide all frontline health personnel at “public health facilities in the country or deployed to trace contacts exposed by infected people, are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE)…” to protect them from the deadly CoronaVirus. Despite this, we have noted a growing trend in health professionals who are testing positive to the Corona Virus, and the majority of thes cases be traced to exposure at the workplace. Now therefore, the Zimbabwe Association of Doctors for Human Rights (ZADHR) is doing an assessment of the state of availability of and or access to PPE in Zimbabwe’s health system following the judgement. This will assist ZADHR in monitoring the compliance of the government, particularly the Ministry of Health and Child Care with the judgement.
If you are a Health worker or know of cases where health workers are either not receiving complete PPE or are getting infected, fill in the form below so ZADHR can follow up on the case.
